What's a conceptual superstructure?

A superstructure is a structure that organizes other structures.

In a book, it is a table of contents; in a body, the bones; in a tree, the trunk and major branches.

I want to accomplish a purpose. A purpose is an idea that becomes a reality.

So this website is not, speaking strictly, a conceptual superstructure. It's made of text and code, not mental stuff. But material things (like books) can describe mental things; so this website is a material artifact that describes a conceptual superstructure.

Why make something like this?

Most ideas die in the mind. Some are born into the world.

This site is a step in the reification of an idea: namely, the purpose that I believe my life exists to accomplish.

But why make a 'conceptual superstructure'? Aren't there many ways to reify an idea?

I have made a lot of content in a lot of formats: essays, vibe reels, poetry readings, community events, Twitch shows, an aesthetics account, a whole lot of tweets, and beyond.

But there are two main reasons I decided a conceptual superstructure was an important next step.

1. Explaining my vision to other people

After years of hemming and hawing about the difficulty of explaining my vision to people, it's become apparent that I need to be able to be both concise and direct in sharing it with the world.

I'm going to need a lot of help to accomplish my goals - but this step, the step of clarification, is something nobody can do for me.

They say that Nathaniel Branden, one-time acolyte of Ayn Rand, pinned words above the door to his office, facing in: NO ONE IS COMING.

Grim. But sometimes true.

2. Clarifying my vision to myself

I'm pretty sure I can get where I'm going, but part of that comes from knowing I'll clarify and improve my plan along the way. You don't just type an address in Google Maps, close your eyes, and hit the gas - you look around and adapt to what you see.

Stating my plan is a step in its clarification.

So what is this vision and purpose this clarification intends to achieve?
